If I were not an artist, I would definitely become a gardener - I would completely, completely devote myself to cultivating the garden.
I love flowers, but aesthetically admiring them is not in the first place. It's hard to say anything about flowers without falling into sentimentality. Every spring, coming from the city to my garden, I almost promise myself that this year there will be no “flower songs” in my painting. But for a year now, with the onset of flowering time, I have been reliving a deep mystical shock, the only way out of which is work. Maybe you can experience something similar when you see an angel with your own eyes. In fact, this is the highest Phenomenon - above all human rationality and fantasy - the manifestation of God’s love for man, who created for him such a beautiful world for every day. And the flowers in this world are the words of the great prayer of gratitude that the earth offers to the Creator. That is why ornament is so important to me - a sign, a secret code of all living things.
You can learn all the wisdom of life from flowers. And the joy of humble service, and the magnificence of genuine luxury filled with simplicity and dignity - “...look at the lilies of the field...”.
Each flower carries within itself, according to Hermann Hesse, a small eternity. And it is given to us to see it, to touch it.
